Apply and take the written exam at nationaltestingnetwork.com. Applications are accepted on a continuous basis. A monthly eligibility list will posted by the end of each month.

ASSESSMENT OF PREFERENCE POINTS
Champaign Police value a diverse workforce that reflects our diverse community. Preference points are assigned for college education, qualifying military service, local residency, and language proficiencies.

PLACEMENT ON ELIGIBILITY LIST
Your name will be ranked on the Eligibility List based upon exam scores and preference points, making you eligible for an interview.

INTERVIEW WITH THE POLICE CHIEF’S PANEL
Join the Police Chief and team members from Champaign Police to share what makes you great for CPD.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION
Champaign Police conduct a comprehensive background check, including financial disclosures and interviews with character references.

POLICE CHIEF RECOMMENDATION FOR APPOINTMENT
The Police Chief will review your background to get to know you better.

CONDITIONAL JOB OFFER
A conditional job offer will be extended, pending all pre-employment testing.
9
PRE-EMPLOYMENT TESTING
Once a conditional job offer is received, get scheduled for required medical records review, plus medical and psychological examinations.
